Car Knitting & Brava Sport Yarn

Working on a hat project in Knit Picks Brava Sport
This past weekend took me up to Massachusetts for a fiddle workshop and gig with my family band, The Homegrown String Band. I, of course, had a ton of yarn packed for the 5 hour (each way) car ride.

Mostly what I worked on was a new beret design using Knit Picks Brava Sport yarn (shown in photo). It's a 100% acrylic yarn and I actually like it. I used Brava Worsted back at Christmas to make a pair of fingerless mitts and I was pretty impressed with the yarn back then too. However, I think I like the Brava Sport more than I liked the Brava Worsted. I'm assuming it's just because of the weight since the yarn is exactly the same (100% Premium Acrylic). With the thinner option I wasn't getting any of the "crunch" I mentioned in my Brava Worsted review. If you're looking for a good, soft, easy-care, inexpensive ($2.99 for 273 yds!) yarn with lots of colors (30) then I'd recommend taking a look at Brava Sport. It's definitely great for baby and children's things, but I'd use it for a sweater for myself as well. I imagine it would make a great every day hoodie sweater. Hmmm.... Now I really want one.... Maybe in "Cream" or "Umber Heather"....

I'm almost done with the pink Brava Sport hat (the design is currently nameless). It could have been done by the time I got home, but I may have forgotten to pack my dpns. Oops! I expect I'll be finishing this by the end of today, assuming the crazy Monday schedule lets me.
